Awareness of the risks from what was not being treated - MB

I had always been worried, right from the very start, because I knew from all my pandemic work before that in previous pandemics the biggest burden of morbidity and mortality came not from the infectious agent but from everything else.  So, the cancers that didn’t get picked up… the delay in accessing treatment…  Obviously we had to have a focus on Covid, but all the other things were still going on… I was picking up in news reports and things that people thought that they couldn’t contact their general practice, or they couldn’t see their GP, when they could, so we also instituted a General Practice is Open’ campaign.
