The crucifer's cradle song

"This source recording came from Little Ontario, Canada, but growing up in Southeastern Louisiana I was very familiar with the chorus of peeper frogs emanating from the night swamp. I used the frog calls to build a subtle, repetitive, rhythmic drone that is the backbone of the piece, while rolling melodic and harmonic phrases imitate the twinkling of stars through the clouds in the night sky. I don't usually listen to music when I'm trying to sleep, but when I do, this is what I'm looking for -- slow, methodical, atmospheric, ever changing."
