Doctor Patient Relationship Part II, Does my doctor know me?
Season 1, Episode 187, Oct 03, 2023, 05:05 PM
Today's episode is a continuation of building a mutual relationship with your doctor, so that you know the doctor and the doctor knows you. Ask questions and don't except a 3 minute appointment. If you are going to be hospitalized or have a procedure have a check list so that you are prepared on discharge. Let's talk about.
In your last appointment with your doctor did you have peace of mind when you left the office? Did you feel you where heard? Are you making an appointment for the next visit? Were you referred to a specialist? Did you feel right at home with the specialist? How do doctors communicate these days? I prefer an old fashioned phone call or text message to schedule a time to discuss. I'm so appreciative of the specialist who trained to be the brain surgeon, the orthopedic surgeon, the psychiatrist and the dental surgeons and general dentists. We should be on big happy family that communicate for the best interest of the patient. How is your relationship with your doctor/doctors and nurses.
If you are having a procedure, surgery or being hospitalized, know your rights when a patient advocate is needed when you are a patient in the hospital and not being heard.
Have a checklist before your procedure and be prepared.
We will also discuss private practice, corporate doctoring and knowing the difference and deciding if you are in the right place. Don't be a number build a relationship so you are heard.
We hope today's episode of Part II share pearls of wisdom to help find the right fit in your healthcare journey. We want to be the resource for your medical and dental questions. Wishing you a blessed Week Stay tuned for Part III next week.
