Thunder lullaby

"The starting point for the composition was the intention to preserve the wonderful, atmospheric field-recording and try to artistically enhance it and add new dimensions. For me, rain and thunderstorms are background sounds that help me sleep. I was happy to have the opportunity to work on this audio.

"The following techniques were used: the recording was split into different frequency bands that represent important aspects of the storm (the thunder, the rain, etc.).
Various effects were applied to bring out the special qualities of each of the
elements of the storm. These influences were adapted over time, illustrating different phases between waking and sleeping.

"Melodies were created by using methods to extract Midi-notes from these parts.
The melodies were assigned to different instruments and mixed with the recordings.
They emphasise the idea of thunderstorm as an orchestral piece, an instrumental lullaby. With the introduction of the slightly spooky choral parts, the strange moment just before falling asleep is included here."
