Season 2, Episode 190,   Oct 23, 2023, 01:30 PM

The Minister for Disabled People, Tom Pursglove visited the RNIB’s New London office, The Grimaldi Building on Monday 23 October 2023 to not only have a tour of the building, meet staff but also attend a meeting with some of the RNIB Leadership Team to talk about the new Disability Action Plan.

RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey caught up with the Minister following his tour and just after his meeting with some of the Senior Leadership Team to find out his impression on the Grimaldi Building, his thoughts on the work that the RNIB does in supporting blind and partially sighted people as well as what was discussed in the meeting too.

Toby began by asking Tom about his impressions of the Grimaldi Building and with all the work that went in to making the building accessible for blind and partially sighted people as well as for people with a wide range of disabilities whether Architects and Designers need to be more aware of and factor in accessibility into the built environment.

Tom told Toby how impressed he was with the work of the RNIB in supporting blind and partially sighted people with the range of equipment and services that are on offer from the RNIB.

Finally Toby asked Tom about the new Disability Action Plan which he had been discussing with members of the RNIB Senior Leadership Team, what is in the plan, how it might help blind and partially sighted people and when it might come into place.
