ABOUT ESTHER LAFFERTY:
"I'm Esther Lafferty. I have been running Oxfordshire Artweeks since 2010. Prior to that I worked with The Story Museum running Alice’s Day, a multi-venue event, and other projects, and began life as a Medical Publisher at Oxford University Press after taking a degree in Human Sciences at Queen’s College, Oxford.

"I am not an artist, bar a little dabbling with mosaics, and so it is a privilege for me to be involved with an open studios organisation and see so many wonderful things in so many media and styles. For me, what’s wonderful about running Artweeks is meeting so many people, and finding out what inspires them. My creative streak, perhaps, lies in my pen and I enjoy writing about people, and why they do what they do both in Oxfordshire and further afield."

About Carole Theriault
https://www.carole.wtf
https://www.instagram.com/caroletheriaultartist
I'm a self-taught watercolour and ink artist based in Oxford, UK. Born in Canada, I moved to the UK in 1995 and settled in East Oxford in 2005. I’ve been painting watercolours since 2019, and play with inks occasionally. I am currently focused on honing my skills, strengthening my ties with Oxford’s art community, and getting on the socials (eeek!). I am also a professional podcaster, writing, hosting and producing Smashing Security, a lighter take on technological SNAFUs, and Sticky Pickles: what do you do now?

I'm a self-taught printmaker who lives and works in East Oxford. I became a full-time artist at the start of 2020, following nearly two decades in journalism and communications.
I work chiefly in linocut, creating unique, limited-edition prints. I'm inspired by nature, but also by the urban environment, and my work is printed by hand in my studio at the bottom of my garden. I enjoy the bold look of single-colour linocuts, but also the challenge and effect of multi-colour, multi-block prints, even if I end up with a fresh batch of grey hairs with each one I tackle!
