Finding Hope After Betrayal (The First Step)

Dec 13, 2023, 09:00 AM

Betrayal, whether it's from a family member, spouse, friend, or co-worker can be devastating. So, how do we find hope?

In the new year, I am releasing a biblical study on rebuilding trust. In it, I talk about one of the key stages in rebuilding trust in finding security in God before finding security in people. However, in this episode, I walk through scripture that informs us of why forgiveness is the first step to finding hope after betrayal.

Forgiveness is not an emotion, it's an act of love and mercy that God has called us to, and the Holy Spirit anoints us to do. Forgiveness is simply the release of debt.
Jesus paid our debt that was owed.

Forgiving others starts with being forgiven. That is our hope. That we can do this, not by our might or by our feelings but through because of what Jesus did on the cross for us. That’s how we get through this - we take one step at a time.

Rooting for you,
Jessica
