Mermaids is a movie that guts me and makes me happy at the same time. We've got Cher, Winona Ryder, and Christina Ricci in her debut role. It's a story about women of all ages, from 9-year-old Kate, played by Christina Ricci, to Cher, a single mom of two, running from her decisions and dragging her kids along; there is a story and relatability to be found in all three of the main characters in Mermaids.
