Reactions to Senator John Polk's Senate Bill 2726 which could lead to the closure of 3 HBCUs in Mississippi, Polk said the State Institutions of Higher Learning would have to announce which schools would be shuttered by June of 2025 and the universities would have to close by June 2028.
