Group Therapy: Ex Staying With Her

Paul's girlfriend is allowing her ex (of six years) to stay at her apartment while he's in town for a week. The ex is single. She doesn't get why Paul is uncomfortable with it. How does he NOT come off like an insecure, jealous controlling boyfriend while convincing her that arrangement isn't good?
