This week Beau and Carl chat all about the life and reign of king Henry the first of England. As the youngest of William the conqueror’s sons, he began with a coup d'état to dispossess his elder brother, Robert Curthose, yet went on to rule for thirty-five years. Those years were turbulent, with many ups and downs with the church and his baronage, and finished with a terrible succession crisis.
