31st STREET SIDEWALK CLEANUP DAY May 4th - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Please join Lakewood Estates for the first 31st Street S neighborhood cleanup event on May 4th at 8 AM until Noon. Coffee and breakfast treats will be provided to volunteers. Parking will be at the 31st S Sports Complex, corner of 54th Avenue S. Pickers will be provided but please feel free to bring any additional with you if you have them. The city may be out at this event to get neighborhood input for redeveloping 31st - so this will be a great event if you want your ideas to be heard. Feel free to bring your bike. This event is family friendly so please bring the little ones if they are interested. We will also be giving out free helmets on a first come first serve basis. Food trucks will be vending at the event as well, at the St Petersburg City Theatre.
Why this cleanup matters: This cleanup event will help demonstrate that we are invested in and care about providing safe and clean walking and bike paths for our community. Our understanding is that the City will begin planning crosswalks across 31st S this summer along with a greater study on road on pedestrian and traffic safety on 31st S. We are hoping our efforts will help be a catalyst for safe crossing and beautification of this neglected pathway and to provide a connector between us and our City Center along with safe access to the Marina District. #Lakewoodestates #stpete #stpetefl #tampabay #radio #radiostpete
