May 16, 04:00 AM

Emily Oster joins us again today in our first episode of our new format to discuss her new book “The Unexpected: Navigating Pregnancy During and After Complications” co-authored by Nathan Fox. Emily’s data driven approach brings comfort to parents everywhere and this book is no different. After years of receiving questions from readers about approaching a second pregnancy when the first one didn’t go as planned, Emily decided to create this book to help inform and educate parents about the reality that about 50% of pregnancies include complications. Whether its miscarriage, hyperemesis gravid arum. preterm birth or postpartum education, Emily provides us all with the necessary information to make next pregnancies as smooth as possible.

Our conversation goes deep into questions provided by all of you! Emily offers insights about epidurals, home births, miscarriage, hyperemesis gravidarum, postpartum depression, VBAC's, induction and how to not let panic headlines cause a panic. Join us as we examine the topics of empowerment and advocating for yourself in doctors appointments and providing you with all the data you need to make informed decisions.
