Episode 2744,   May 25, 08:43 AM

The IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) has indicated that several countries in the region, including South Sudan, must prepare for heavy rains that are expected to cause flooding.

Certain regions of the country have been significantly affected by #floods for several years, while others have experienced #drought.

These natural disasters have profoundly impacted the livelihoods of many who survive off the land.
Displacements, food shortages, and waterborne diseases are challenges that are expected as the rainfall intensifies.

So, what humanitarian preparations are the concerned ministries undertaking?
This is the question that Yach Garang James posed to the panel of ministers on the Roundtable.

In the studio, Yach hosted:

Hon. Albino Akol Atak, Minister of Humanitarian and Disaster Management
Joseph Africano, Undersecretary, Ministry of Environment and Forestry
Nhail Tiitmamer, Environmentalist with UNMISS
