Tragedy Strikes at Tillamook Rock Lighthouse

Before Tillamook Rock Lighthouse would be built things went wrong on the rock. One man accessing the area is killed when a wave takes him and he swept out to sea and never seen again, and just a couple weeks before it would be lit for the first time a vessel crashes right near the rock and unlit lighthouse, taking 16 men to their watery graves.
