Victor Minke Huls joined The Florida Orchestra in 2023 as associate principal cellist. An accomplished musician who holds – among his other degrees – a doctorate in conducting, Huls is a native of Jacksonville, the only child of veteran string players.

Today on Arts Alive!, Huls discusses his earliest ambitions to make music his livelihood, his career trajectory and more. He served as the principal cellist of the Amarillo Symphony (2019-23), and was a cello fellow at the New World Symphony (2021-23). He has also performed with the Jacksonville Symphony, Aspen Chamber Symphony, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Toledo Symphony, Peninsula Music Festival, Saint Augustine Music Festival, Lincoln Center Stage and Nu Deco Ensemble.

The multi-instrumentalist talks about his role in TFO, the relationship between the conductor and the musicians, and why the cello was the main instrument of choice for him. #floridaorchestra #TFO #Victorminkehuls  #stpetecatalyst #artsalive #billdeyoung #tampabay #radio #radiostpete
