Scott tells the story of Jiffy, a girl who never opened to the hurt and sadness of childhood. Jiffy learned to cope by being powerful to hide both the vulnerable emotions and the delicate side of her femininity. Throughout life, Jiffy could not find the connection she lost with her parents even through her role as a spiritual teacher. Ultimately, suffering returned after many years of repression, sending Jiffy into a state of reverse pariah-hood and disease she couldn’t escape.
