Florida Humanities celebrated 50 years in 2024, so news director Nanette Wiser caught up with Program Director Stephanie Chill  on 2025 upcoming events, an environmental book tour throughout Florida and the Florida Humanities Festival March 2025 in Sarasota. Center for the Book Program Series: Exploring the Environment through Literature kicked off 2/1 with  Ian Wilson-Navarro’s new book, "Dry Tortugas: Stronghold of Nature. Authors Cori Convertito (Key West Art & Historical Society), Curtis Hall (Dry Tortugas National Park), and Nancy Klingener (Monroe County Public Library) introduced the history, culture, and environment of Dry Tortugas. On 3/19 Dr. Leslie Kemp Poole will be at Tampa Bay History Center talking about Tracing Florida Journeys: Explorers, Travelers, and Landscapes Then and Now. On June 21, Sara E. Echenique will share her bilingual book Our Roof is Blue/Nuestro Techo es Azul at Young Art Museum in Plantation.
