DIDM Breakdown: Once a Cheater Always a Cheater??

In todays Down in the DM breakdown DCS goes over a DM that the callers boyfriend  had cheated in the past but was not willing to on the call. Can a cheater be reformed? Or is it once a cheater always a cheater?
