"One of the aspects of the recording that struck me was how well the spaciousness of the amphitheatre was captured. I wanted to take the three main sounds (clapping, horns, voice) and see how those could be re-contextualized into something new and unexpected. It was clear to me that I wanted to use the recording as the only sound source.

"All sounds you hear are from the original recording..including the "drums". Snippets of sound were processed in my modular synthesizer until they became something completely new. The final piece is an imaginary live performance in the amphitheatre that moves around in time. The amphitheatre was there before us and will be there after us."
