The women who made a difference in the City of St. Petersburg from the beginning. The St. Petersburg Museum of History features an exhibit titled "Meddling: The Women Who Built St. Pete," which explores the contributions of women to the city's history, highlighting their roles as civic leaders, educators, and more.  The exhibit aims to showcase the often-overlooked contributions of women to St. Petersburg's development, correcting misconceptions about local history. The title "Meddling" comes from historical descriptions of women who broke gender norms and entered male-dominated spaces, highlighting their "meddling" in what was considered men's business.  The exhibit features photos, information panels, artifacts, and video, telling the stories of women who were politicians, civic leaders, educators, real estate developers, and business owners, among other roles.
