Culture correspondent and author Margo Hammond talks with host Nanette Wiser about Sunken Gardens, it's history and upcoming events. Hammond is a lifelong journal and collagist, and shares that Picasso came up with the word (collaging was a passion among the Dada artists).  https://sunkengardens.org/
4/24 5:30-7:30 MARGO HAMMOND & JAYE ANN TERRY - SECRET GARDEN COLLAGE & JOURNAL CLASS: Cultivate a secret garden through journaling and collaging at this Sunken Gardens workshop. After enjoying a meditative walk through the gardens, Jaye Ann Terry will engage you in a journaling exercise that will tap into your inner garden. Then Margo Hammond will share with you the history of collage and invite you to create your own secret garden on paper, using magazine clippings, glue and a sense of play. Both first-time and veteran journalers and collagers are welcome. All supplies provided. Just bring an open heart and a sense of adventure.
Pre-registration required due to limited space (max. 25 participants). Price: $12/members, $15/not-yet-members (in addition to standard admission). Call 727-551-3102 to register. *Refunds will not be provided for no-shows.*  Program will be held both indoors and outdoors at Sunken Gardens.
4/6 10am-4pm ORCHID FEST Browse thousands of orchids for sale. Attend orchid care presentations by orchid experts. Stock up on orchid supplies, pottery, art, and more. Beer, wine, and Italian fare by Carrabba’s will be available to purchase. Orchid Festival is free with Gardens admission or membership. Parking is extremely limited due to our shared parking lot. We encourage guests to carpool, ride share, bike, or walk to this special event.

All lectures will take place outside in our shaded amphitheater.
