Edwin J. Hearn is the President of St. Augustine High School in San Diego, a respected educator and authors of the Saintsmen: A Century of Unity, Truth & Love which traces both the Augustinians in history and California and dives deep into Augustinian values and culture that have made both Villanova, Pope Leo's alma mater and SAHS world-class educational models transforming young people into tomorrow's leaders. Ed met Pope Leo, then known as Cardinal Robert Prevost, at the Augustinian Congress in Lima Peru where Ed spoke. After his speech, he sat down with Cardinal Prevost to discuss his radical ideas for education. "He was intelligent and Inquisitive, humble and thoughtful," recalls Ed, who was the first lay President at SAHS history. Cardnal Prevost also spoke at the high school's 90th anniversary in the old gym. Both share a love of baseball, but disagree on favorite teams (Ed, Padres; the Pope, White Sox).
**Host Nanette Wiser spoke with Ed Hearn on his unique insights on what this new pope and the Augustinian traditions will mean to 1.4 billion Catholics, the U.S and the world.  We will add a link to the longer article.
