Neo Soul

In the mid-90s Neo Soul showcased several artists like Jill Scott, D'angelo, Erykah Badu, Common, Bilal, Lauryn Hill, Q Tip, Music Soul Child, and several others. Despite its national success, with defining albums that shaped the sound of Neo Soul, including D'Angelo's Brown Sugar, Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite, and  Erykah Badu's Baduizm. Neo Soul disappeared. For this episode we explore through the history of Neo Soul, from its roots in the 90s to its decline in the face of commercial demands.
