Welcome back! Caryn Nesmith returns from vacation to bring us the latest from USF St. Petersburg:

Orientation Season Kicks Off: The campus is buzzing with new students, welcomed by the energetic Orientation Team led by Carolina Nutt, Lindsey Owen, Morgan Berg, and the University Student Center crew.
Student Move-Out Sparks Giving: Gently used linens from dorms were donated to SPCA Tampa Bay, thanks to Housing, Community Relations, Officer Lickenfelt, and therapy dog Snowbird.
Hurricane Oral History Project: Dr. Catherine Wilkins is preserving stories from those impacted by the 2024 hurricanes—highlighting community resilience.
New Hurricane Research: USF’s College of Marine Science uncovers how rivers can intensify storms—improving forecasting models.
Veterans Advocacy Recognition: Four USF students, including Zayle Ruiz from St. Pete, were selected for the National Veterans Leadership Foundation’s program, supporting military-connected initiatives.
