“Hungering and Thirsting for Righteousness” by Greg Chandler

As Jesus introduces His Sermon on the Mount, He uses a series of statements to identify those welcomed into His kingdom. Sitting near the center in this listing of beatitudes, Jesus says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” How, though, does one hunger and thirst for righteousness? This study will seek out the answer by exploring the surrounding verses and understanding what Jesus expects of His kingdom citizens.
