A study will explore the reported changes in menstrual cycles after COVID-19 vaccination, as many people have experienced early, late, or missed periods, causing concern. No causal link has been found yet. The study will collect data from Clue and Natural Cycles apps, comparing vaccinated and unvaccinated women aged 18-45 to understand changes in period length, frequency, regularity, and bleeding. The study includes all races/ethnicities.

COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective, and anecdotal evidence suggests minimal, self-limited menstrual changes. COVID-19 illness causes significantly more menstrual disruption. Many factors can affect menstruation, including stress, lifestyle, diet, and physical activity. While vaccine-induced immune responses could theoretically cause changes, they are not typically studied in vaccine trials and VAERS hasn't identified this as a side effect. Despite 30,000 UK reports, this is a tiny fraction of vaccinated women, highlighting vaccine safety. Such reports can decrease vaccine confidence, underscoring the study's importance.
