WADA Presents “THE UNRAVELING – A Future Without USAID and its Global Implications” An immersive exhibit and public program series examining the cascading global and local effects of a retreating U.S. foreign aid presence
The Warehouse Arts District Association (WADA) is proud to present THE UNRAVELING – A Future Without USAID and its Global Implications, an urgent and timely exhibition running from September 13 to October 3, 2025, at WADA’s ArtsXchange campus in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Curated by former USAID Communications Advisor Ali Syverson, the exhibit explores the real-world consequences of reduced U.S. engagement in global development.Through visual storytelling and interactive components, THE UNRAVELING examines what’s at stake—from public health and disaster relief to democratic stability—when the United States retreats from its leadership in international aid. The exhibition invites audiences to consider how these global shifts reverberate in local communities such as Tampa Bay, where challenges like climate change, migration, and economic disparity intersect with international policy decisions.
“At WADA, we believe that art is not just a mirror—it’s a lens that invites us to examine complex global issues through a deeply human perspective,” said Markus Gottschlich, Executive Director of WADA. “This exhibition creates a space where voices that are too often left out of the conversation can be heard, and where critical discussions—about our shared responsibilities and interconnected futures—can take root. This is a core tenet of WADA’s mission and programming.”
