Host Nanette Wiser catches up with an uber-talented journalist Paul Taublieb who knows a thing or two about how to tell a great story as screenwriter and filmmaker. From surfing San Diego to global x-treme sport films with inspiring stories of resiliency and relationships, Taublieb's newest film "Pay Dirt : The Story of Supercross" debuted this week on Amazon Prime, AppleTV and other major platforms. Said one reviewer "Supercross fans and newcomers alike will find profound inspiration in Paul Taublieb's documentary "Pay Dirt - The Story of Supercross." This masterfully crafted film delivers an honest, unfiltered look into the heart-pounding world of Monster Energy Supercross The documentary weaves together compelling narratives from legends and unsung heroes of the sport, sharing their triumphs, failures, and raw vulnerabilities. Josh Brolin's narration guides viewers through emotionally charged stories. The film doesn't shy away from controversy, featuring an unsettling interview with imprisoned Supercross founder Mike Goodwin, convicted of murdering Mickey Thompson and his wife. This willingness to confront difficult truths sets Pay Dirt apart from typical sports documentaries."
KEY WEST FISHING What caught my attention was Taublieb's film "Life on the Line," has been named a semi-finalist at the New York Indie Shortfest film festival. He talks about making the film about permit fishing - as an obsession but also a story of a a one-time heroin addict turned fishing guide's path to recovery and redemption.
