Here's the Left of Lansing "Friday Short" for August 1, 2025.

Michigan's Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin's push to show the coolness of centrism to younger and independent voters isn't going as smoothly as she and her people are pushing. 

LOL's Pat Johnston devotes a little more time than usual in this "Friday Short" to describe how Slotkin's failing in these chaotic and scary times which call for stark moral clarity. 

Slotkin is using critical words against Israel's actions in Gaza, but refuses to show-up to vote on a resolution blocking offensive weapons to Israel. Nor will she declare Israel's actions in Gaza as a genocide.

The lack of moral clarity as fascism takes over in the United States isn't leadership. 

It's cowardice.
