Host Nanette Wiser always knew that her fellow grad student Steve Leveen would go on to make magic out of his ideas and visions. Originally from San Diego, Leveen traded sunshine and sailing for snow and during his PhD achieved wrote eloquently and researched tirelessly under the guidance of Professors Rose K. Goldsen Robin Williams. But his passion for books and pens and writing and words inspired him to create a business with this wife, a former IBM exec, that bibliophiles found intoxicating. The founder of LEVENGER - Tools for Readers, the author and journalist is appointed a new President and is concentrating on being a champion of bilingualism in America. Levenger Press publishes works by well-known authors such as Winston S. Churchill, Lewis Carroll illustrated by New Yorker cartoonist Ed Koren, "1,000 Books to Read Before You Die," and "Churchill Wit and Wisdom" Leveen's classic "The Little Guide to Your Well-Read Life," gets an update this year, and is one of Leveen's many projects as he shuttles between Maine and South Florida. Leveen is the founder of the America the Bilingual project and the host of the America the Bilingual podcast. Leveen created America the Bilingual as an ongoing initiative to bring together Americans who believe that bilingualism can be an instrument of positive social change. Leveen was named a Fellow of the Advanced Leadership Initiative (ALI) of Harvard University in 2015 and a Fellow of the Distinguished Career Institute (DCI) at Stanford University in 2016.
