In this episode of ART & INSPIRATION, Brenda McMahon talks with Joe LeGrand, aSt. Pete based oil painter whose work captures the complex and layered beauty of urban street scenes. This selection of paintings, Chaos & Calm, explores the dynamics of city life through a careful balance of structure and atmosphere, using strong perspective not only in line but in tonal shifts and color gradation. LeGrand emphasizes the interplay between movement and stillness, chaos and calm. Some scenes burst with vibrant splashes of color, reflecting the energy of a busy street, while others retreat into muted grays—evoking quiet solitude, shadow, and space to breathe. LeGrand's Brenda McMahon Gallery Exhibition, Chaos & Calm, opens on September 2, 2025. The Artist Reception is 6-9pm on Friday, September 5th. The Gulfport Gallery will host a Meet & Greet on Saturday, September 20th, 6-8pm.
