Spotted by a leading London modeling agency at just 13 years of age, she entered a world of glamour and fame, while quietly battling addiction and eating disorders.

Today, Ebony Gilbert is a birth doula, published poet, and devoted mum to her son George, who lives with complex disabilities. With 18 years of sobriety, Ebony has walked an extraordinary path of recovery alongside her partner Steve, who has been sober for 21 years.

Ebony opens up about raising George, navigating his multiple diagnoses, and the lessons she’s learned about self-compassion, ancestral trauma, and the healing power of asking for help. Ebony also shares the calming practices that keep her grounded and the inspiration behind her acclaimed new poetry collection, This Skin I’m In.
