Today we’re talking with Christopher Ward, who’s been teaching at the University of Tampa since 2021. His current class is Business Communication; he’s also taught film producing, animation, writing, directing and other production courses, as well as film and TV history.
Ward is a two-time Emmy winning writer, producer and director whose documentary film Outwitting Hitler is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. His The Independents ran for four successful months Off-Broadway; Ward wrote and directed the play, about artists Mary Cassatt and Edgar Degas.
He has also just published a graphic novel, The Hottest Fires of Hell, a fictionalized account of Polish resistance fighters taking aim at Nazis during World War II.
History is just one of Ward’s passions. He is an expert on the silent film era, and has introduced classics at both the Imagine Museum and the James Museum of Wildlife Art.
For many years, he worked as a writer and producer for Showtime and its subsidiary, The Movie Channel, where he worked closely with film historian and TV host Robert Osborne on commentary segments and celebrity interviews. #stpetecatalyst #artsalive #billdeyoung #thehottestfiresofhell #christopherward #tampabay #radio #radiostpete
