If you watch this tape — what? A tape. It's like a DVD but older. ... A DVD is a streaming movie that you, like, hold in your hand. Never mind, THE RING scared us silly 23 years ago, but after a hundred imitators, can it still kick off spooky season with a shriek? (The horse-on-the-boat sequence sure can.)
