0204 Missing Centenarians

Though their aging faces have not yet appeared on milk cartons, a number of 100 year plus citizens of Japan have gone missing. This is surprising and embarrassing for a country that prides itself on the longevity of its people and the strength of its traditional family values. Japanese authorities recently admitted that they’d, ummm, lost track of a 111 year old man officially listed as Tokyo’s seniorest of senior men and that when they searched his apartment it turned out he had been, ummm, dead for 30 years. In another case, it was discovered that the address given by Tokyo’s oldest woman, 113-year old Fusa Furuya, was in fact a vacant lot and she was nowhere to be found. Her 79 year old daughter was no help claiming that she thought her mother was with her brother.
