Host Nanette Wiser caught up with Tammy Gail, the founder and visionary behind SAVOR St. Pete, a premier culinary festival that brings together world-class chefs, local artisans, and food lovers for a one-of-a-kind experience.  Local and national beverages, from California wine to craft brews such as 3 Daughters, whet the appetite. With an extensive background in media, she is passionate about highlighting both the flavors and the stories behind each chef. MEET THE CHEFS Now in it's 5th year in downtown St. Pete, Food Network Top Chef Brian Malarkey joins other national and local chefs showcasing new trends, food and spirit tastings, 130+ product and partners sharing recipes, demonstrations and tastings. Brian Malarkey is one of America’s most dynamic and accomplished chefs and restaurateurs, celebrated for his bold culinary vision and innovative, concept-driven dining experiences. Beyond his successful restaurant ventures, Malarkey is the founder of Chefs Life, a rapidly growing culinary lifestyle brand offering premium cooking oils and products, now available in over 4,000 grocery stores nationwide. He currently serves as the host of Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen.  Chef Brian Malarkey opened Herb & Wood to instant acclaim in San Diego and the restaurant has become an icon, a dining destination that has helped to propel San Diego’s culinary reputation to new heights. By focusing on rustic, wood-fired dishes, Chef Malarkey’s menu elevates humble ingredients such as carrots, beets, and chicken, incorporating Mediterranean flavors and a California ethos of seasonality and sustainability.
TOP CHEFS  The SAVOR Chef Showdown – the  first-ever live culinary competition! Eight judges - including me - will vote with their forks (and tastebuds) as eight chefs compete for the top spot, showcasing seasonal, international flavors and trends. Tammy says this year, the trend is all about unique seafood dishes both for  restaurant chefs and home cooks. We look forward to enjoying the offerings Chef Joshua Carter and  Executive Sous Chef Marco Grajeda of Vinoy Restaurants as well as the Florida Florida flavors from Chef Valdes; who appeared on Food Network and represents Florida Dairy Farmers. Elliott Aster, the new restaurant at The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, FL, is led by Michelin-starred chef Lee Wolen. Wolen is also known for his work with Boka Restaurant Group in Chicago, where Boka has maintained a Michelin star since 2011, according to St. Pete Foodies. Elliott Aster, which opened in May 2025, aims to bring a refined Italian and Mediterranean-inspired dining experience to St. Pete. Elegant, seasonal, and always unexpected— Birch & Vine's Chef Lee Aquino elevates local ingredients with precision and artistry. Expect refined dishes and a soulful presentation style. Chef David Asher Chef (Taverna Costale), Chef David Smith (The Blu Halo), Chef Jessica Darnel (Tryst),Chef Israel Hernandez (Doc Ford) and others will also be competing.
