Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 54:4
Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. -Joshua 1:7
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. -Joshua 1:8
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. -Joshua 1:9
DEVOTION
Based on Joshua 1
God doesn't suggest courage—He commands it. This isn't because He's unsympathetic to our fears but because He knows the secret to fearlessness: His presence. "Whithersoever thou goest" means no location is outside His jurisdiction. Into the boardroom or bedroom, cancer ward or courtroom, He's there. Joshua faced impossible odds taking the Promised Land, but God's presence made him unstoppable.
Notice courage is commanded, not felt. We choose bravery not because we feel brave but because God is faithful. "Be not dismayed" means don't let circumstances break your spirit. When God commands us forward, He promises to go with us. His presence is our courage.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Omnipresent God, You are everywhere I go, in every battle I face. You command courage because You guarantee companionship. Your presence makes cowards into conquerors.
CONFESSION: I confess choosing fear over faith, dismay over determination. I've forgotten Your presence in my battles and acted as if I'm alone in my struggles.
THANKSGIVING: Thank You for never sending me where You won't go. Thank You that Your command to be courageous comes with Your promise to be present. Thank You for being with me wherever I go.
SUPPLICATION: Father, help me obey Your command to be courageous. When fear whispers lies, let Your presence shout truth. Give me Joshua's faith to face impossible odds with unshakeable confidence in You.

God, You are my Helper. You uphold me and sustain me through the peaks and valleys of life. I want to leave the world's worries behind in a peaceful slumber and rest assured in Your love. There are no trials and tribulations too mighty for Your divine power. None of my fears are worth holding onto when I know You have my life in Your hands. Give me the strength to release my grip of control and relax. You keep me secure by Your strength. You know me and are acquainted with my worries. You love me despite my flaws and sins. I can rest in every one of these truths. Now, usher me into sleep like a loving Father rocks his child. In Jesus’ name, I trust and pray, Amen. 🙏🏾
