COLOSSIANS 3:2
DEVOTION
Based on Colossians 3
This verse calls us to shift our focus from the temporary to the eternal. Earthly things—success, possessions, worries—can easily capture our attention and stir anxiety or pride. But God invites us to fix our hearts on Him, setting our desires on what lasts: His truth, His kingdom, and His presence.
Setting our affection on things above changes how we live here and now. It brings clarity to our purpose, peace to our hearts, and direction to our decisions. When our eyes are on Jesus, the noise of the world fades and our souls find rest.
Take a moment tonight to realign your focus. Breathe out distraction and worry, and breathe in eternal perspective. Ask God to lift your gaze and fill your heart with heavenly desires.

ADORATION: Praise God for being higher than all things. Worship Him as the eternal King who gives peace and purpose beyond this world.
CONFESSION: Reflect on times when your heart has been more focused on earthly concerns than heavenly truth. Confess any misplaced priorities or desires.
THANKSGIVING: Thank God for the hope and clarity He gives when your heart is set on Him. Express gratitude for His guidance that lifts your vision above the temporary.
SUPPLICATION: Father, help me to set my affection on things above. Teach me to live with heaven in mind and to love what You love. Guard my heart from distraction and fill me with longing for Your presence and purposes.

Dear Lord, Please grant us a mindset that seeks out what is of You. Help us to keep our focus on those things which are above and not be distracted by the fleeting desires of this world. Turn our hearts away from anything that does not bring glory to Your name, so that we may live lives devoted to Your will. Let us cling to the truths that You have revealed about Yourself and Your kingdom. Guide us with Your gentle hand to make decisions that will bring honor to Your name. Help us to trust in You as our provider and sustainer, so that all of our desires may align with Yours. May we be filled with the peace that comes from living within Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏾
