Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Ecclesiastes 7:9
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.”
ECCLESIASTES 7:9
DEVOTION
Based on Ecclesiastes 7
This verse reminds us of the danger of uncontrolled anger. Anger itself is not always sinful, but when it takes root in our hearts, it can lead to foolish decisions, broken relationships, and spiritual harm. Being quick to anger often blinds us to wisdom, causing us to act impulsively rather than seek God’s peace.
We are called to patience and self-control instead of letting anger control us. When we surrender our emotions to God, He helps us respond with grace rather than wrath. True wisdom is found in a heart that seeks understanding instead of reacting hastily.
Take a moment tonight to reflect on how you handle anger. Breathe out frustration, and breathe in God’s peace. Ask Him to help you respond with patience and wisdom, guarding your heart against anger’s grip.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Praise God for His patience and mercy. Worship Him as the One who gives peace and wisdom in moments of frustration.
CONFESSION: Reflect on times when you’ve been quick to anger. Confess any moments where frustration led you away from God’s wisdom, and ask for His help to grow in patience.
THANKSGIVING: Thank God for His grace, which helps you overcome anger and respond with wisdom. Express gratitude for His Spirit, which guides you toward self-control and understanding.
SUPPLICATION: Father, help me to be slow to anger and quick to listen. Teach me to respond with grace and patience rather than frustration. Let Your peace fill my heart so I may reflect Your love even in difficult situations. Guard me from anger’s grip and lead me in wisdom.
PRAYER
“Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.”
ECCLESIASTES 7:9
Dear God, As we reflect on anger and bitterness, we ask for your guidance and wisdom out of foolish outbursts. Help us to be patient and slow to anger, knowing that a calm spirit is better than a proud one. May we always seek to understand and love those around us, even in difficult situations. Give us the strength to forgive and the grace to extend kindness and compassion towards others. We pray for your peace to reign in our hearts and minds, as we trust in You to guide us through each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏾
