Our area is famous for its beaches and museums, but did you know it also has an historic Greek community where where you can watch sponge divers collect live sponges, and hear Greek being spoken in the restaurants? Yep. It's all in the authentic and charming port town of Tarpon Springs (downtown Tarpon Springs seen in this photo). Just down the road is Palm Harbor where you can hop on the Pinellas Trail and bike, jog, walk or scooter along an old converted rail line and stop along the way for a beer or a bite to eat. If you've been on the go all day, you can't beat relaxing to the sound of the water lapping up on shores of Honeymoon or Caladesi Island or Anclote Key Preserve State Park and enjoy a spectacular sunset.
