Vuonna 2015 Germanwingsin lento 9525 oli matkalla Barcelonasta Düsseldorfiin, kun Ranskan lennonjohto huomasi, että Airbus A320-200 menetti nopeasti lentokorkeuttaan. Lennonjohto yritti ottaa ohjaamoon yhteyttä, mutta kukaan ei vastannut. 20 minuuttia myöhemmin lentokone löydettiin Ranskan Alpeilta ja se oli törmännyt täydestä vauhdista vuoren seinämään. Onnettomuuspaikalta löytynyt musta laatikko sisälsi ohjaamon ääninauhan, josta pystyttiin selvittämään, mikä onnettomuuden oli aiheuttanut.
