Murder mysteries seem to be everywhere, from Netflix's Agatha Christie & Knives Out series to regional theaters. Host Nanette Wiser caught up with actress and St. Pete resident Jan Neuberger, who we met through our friends Eugenie and Mary Rachel at Station 12 Studio. Celebrating 52 years with Actors' Equity and with five Broadway shows,. Hallmark films and dozens of regional plays to celebrate, Jan is in Asolo Rep's upcoming Agatha Christie mystery, The Mirror Crack'd, running from January 21 through March 14. It's noirish and set in 1963, and she plays a widow whose glorious manor house is sold to an actress and her director husband. Of course, Jane Marple will be on the stage to solve the mystery. Jan's favorite Miss Marple? Margaret Rutherford , of course!
👉We talk about the upcoming play in Sarasota's award-winning Asolo, her history, Tampa Bay's rich theater scene and the importance of theater in our lives.
"The face of theatre is vastly changed…but then, so is mine. The power of compelling storytelling, however, never gets old, and live theatre remains an ever-dependable generator of civil discourse. I'm grateful for its undiminished power to bring us together," she says.
