👉At the Seven C show, she will be taking requests from the audience as part of her "Passport" performance and debuting some new compositions. Muriel Anderson’s “Passport” show takes you on a journey. The audience is handed “guitar passport books” to request what countries they’d like to visit in the music. Her compositions capture the essence of authentic traditional music, and she sings in up to 10 languages. You’ll travel with her on her sailing adventures, and throughout the world in the music and images. Bringing together diverse cultures and settings, shining a gentle light on our common humanity.
ABOUT ANDERSON Muriel Anderson performs on a 20-string harp-guitar and her facility across multiple genres, combined with gentle sense of humor, is revered by audiences and guitarists worldwide. She is the first woman to win the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. Guitar Player Magazine lists her as one of the top 50 guitarists of all time and she has recently been listed among the top ten female guitarists, yet it will be her uplifting songs and compositions that will be her lasting legacy. She has recorded with country legend Chet Atkins, performed with Les Paul and countless other greats in “Muriel Anderson’s All Star Guitar Night®” over the past 30+ years. Muriel’s CD Nightlight Daylight placed first in its category in 11 national awards, followed by Acoustic Chef, an international CD with cookbook. Muriel’s release Sailing Dreams exhibits new levels of creativity–she has even created a board game to accompany the music. Her non-profit foundation provides musical instruments and lessons to youth, and she supports World Kitchen with a percentage of sales from Acoustic Chef.Â
ENJOY her Baker's Dozen new composition at the end of our interview, inspired by a Greek meal and lots of baklava from this talented musical storyteller.
