Is free speech dangerous?
French President Emmanuel Macron recently suggested that defending “free speech” without regulating algorithms is “nonsense.” Europe continues moving toward tighter digital regulation in the name of protecting democracy.
But what did the framers of the Constitution believe?

Self-government is not comfort.
It is not safety.
It is not emotional ease.
It is responsibility.
And it requires citizens capable of governing themselves before they attempt to govern a nation.
If freedom feels messy, that’s because it is.
