Lunar New Year - The Year of the Horse - kicked off Feb. 17th with events all over Tampa Bay. Correspondent Maddie Merrick, WECX co-station manager, interviews Eckerd College's Marley Hellersteion about the Lunar New Year celebrated in Asisan cultures and their 2/20 celebration on campus with food, activities and music sponsored by one of the many student organizations on Eckerd College campus.
👉Eckerd College's 1,950 students travel an average of 1,000 miles from home to come to Eckerd, so expect to meet others with extremely varied interests.
In addition to athletics—including NCAA Division II athletics, club sports and intramurals—and one of the largest collegiate Waterfront programs in the Southeast, students can choose to participate in over 80 student organizations. The clubs vary a bit from year to year as students’ interests change.
