It is Day 30 in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, and investigators have now searched a specific set of cell tower coordinates in the Arizona desert looking for a body. In this episode of Drop Dead Serious, Ashleigh Banfield is joined by Dr. Tracy Sargent. Dr. Tracy Sargent has a PhD in Psychology with an emphasis in criminal justice. She specializes in missing person cases, behavioral analysis, criminal profiling, and victimology. She is a forensic criminologist, crime scene analyst, law enforcement officer, canine handler, and public safety trainer. Dr. Sargent explains what “high probability areas” mean in a real search, why search teams start at ground zero and work outward, and what it can indicate when law enforcement narrows its focus to a specific location in remote desert terrain.
