Burnett, who served as the only pharmacist on the guideline writing committee, shares her experience contributing to the hemodynamic management and anticoagulation sections. Together, they highlight the guideline's new A-through-E risk stratification schema, the expanded role of low-molecular-weight heparin over unfractionated heparin, and the growing opportunity for pharmacists to lead outpatient deep vein thrombosis management and antithrombosis stewardship programs. They also preview the upcoming HI-PEITHO trial, which is set to be presented at ACC 2026 and may further shape how intermediate-high-risk PE patients are managed.
