Devon says she has never believed in ghosts, and even now she still isn’t sure what to make of what happened in a rental house she once lived in outside Howard, Ohio. At the time she was working overnight shifts and raising four kids, so strange noises in the middle of the night were easy to dismiss at first.

But over time, both she and her boyfriend began hearing things they couldn’t easily explain—footsteps moving through the house, sounds that seemed to travel from room to room, and moments that made them question whether someone else was there.

Even today, Devon still tries to find logical explanations for what happened. But there are a few moments from that house that she still can’t quite explain.
