Op Telic, 15 years on - Ben's story

On 22 May 2011, British forces withdrew from Iraq for the last time, marking the end of Operation Telic. To mark the 15th anniversary, we spoke to Ben, a blind veteran of the 3rd Battalion Rifles.

Five days before the end of his second tour, Ben’s patrol was hit by an IED near Basra. He was 26. The injuries he sustained were catastrophic. In this episode, he talks about what happened that day, the long road to recovery, and how Blind Veterans UK helped him rebuild his life.
